FANX Platform Features & Enhancements:
General Portal Interface
New Front End Framework: Multiple sections of the portal have been migrated to a newer front-end interface, aligning with the rest of the portal
- This change is part of an ongoing project we have been working on for the last 12 months focused on creating an easier, less 'clunky" portal interface and improved stability
- The migrated sections in the latest release include:
- Forgot Password
- Editing Arenas and Sections
- Social Media Configuration
- Feedback
- Import History
- Related "pill" links on objects throughout the portal more accurately show the number of published related objects
- Portal Navigation: The portal navigation bar has been cleaned up to be more accurately organized and easier to use
- Help Text Added: Help text has been added on image inputs throughout the portal to give users more information about image specs, character limits, and more
Live Stats
- Away vs Home Scoreboard: Scoreboards now list the visiting team first and the home team second for sports where appropriate
- Stats on Stats on Stats: Portal users can now add multiple stat identifiers per team
- This allows live stats to work under different stat providers, and reduces tendency for human error
- For example, if the StatCrew ID is "PANDA" but the ID that a user enters "PANDAS", our system will now handle either provider - provided you have added that ID in advance!
- It is still a best practice to instruct your stat entry personnel and conference members to consistently name your teams with a single ID where possible.
- This allows live stats to work under different stat providers, and reduces tendency for human error
- Baseball/Softball:
- Added balls and strikes to the the baseball scoreboard
- Baseball scoreboard will no longer show 'LABEL' placeholder between innings
- Baseball line score now shows a dash for the unplayed bottom of the current inning.
- Fixed inconsistencies between the baseball scoreboard and baseball head to head view for neutral-site tournament apps
- Softball no longer sends a notification for the second inning
- Added a component for non-developer support users to better resolve live stats issues from the portal
- Added sports icons to My Teams and the team cards view
- Fixed a problem causing some stat categories to display incorrectly. If only one team has accumulated stats in a category, the app will still show that category.
Notifications
- Bold is Better: Notifications now use the correct bolded title style
- Game start notification titles are sport specific (e.g tipoff, first pitch, puck drop, etc.).
- Send to Home: You can now send notifications directly from the portal dashboard. Notifications sent from the dashboard will deep link directly to the home screen of the app.
- Consistency of Notification Composition Screen: The portal has a new notification modal that allows users to attach images, URLs, and audiences to notifications, regardless of where that notification is created from
Promotions
- Scheduling: You can now schedule a notification from a live promotion
- Enhanced Sharing: Users that share promotions on social media or elsewhere will now have useful and meaningful default messages populated
- Geofencing: Fixed an issue with promotion geofences; geofence now can be correctly added to promotions who add a venue property
- Added filtering option to the Promo Playbook page
- Users can filter to see promotions that are associated with a playbook, arena, team, or demographic
- They can also filter to see just promos that are live, scheduled, staged, or expired
- This change does NOT change the way things are displayed in the app; rather the change was made so that portal users have more options when viewing what promotions are live in the app
Teams, Rosters, Schedules, Games & Events
- Teams now have default fields for audio/video links. This should reduce the effort to monitor and update games throughout the season for teams with consistent broadcast sources.
- Special events now share functionality and visual layout similar to games
- A social media feed is now available on special events
- Special events now share the same image dimensions as teams and the home screen
- Both games and special events now have custom URL fields for linking to resources like game notes, recaps and more
- Both games and special events now have Rich Text fields that show below the links at the top of the screen
App Personalization
- Apps will now use a fan's team preferences to personalize more content throughout the app. This release extends those preferences to:
- Default Schedule View: Schedule will default to only show games for teams you are following in the app
- Team Cards Display Order: Teams that you follow will appear at the front of the teams list
- Default Schedule View: Schedule will default to only show games for teams you are following in the app
Accessibility
- VoiceOver Support has been improved in the tutorial, radio, schedule and home views
Loyalty + Rewards Features & Enhancements:
User messaging
- When a rewards event is not available for check-in the rewards button will be "greyed out." If a user tries to click on the check-in button anyways, they will receive a message to the effect of "Not in the geofence" or "Check your location settings" depending on their particular issue.
- Users are no longer able to check in to games with no value
- Rewards button no longer appears for games with a custom location that they are unable to check in to
Portal Enhancements
- Users now have the ability to set rewards points at the team level, eliminating the need to set points for each game
- The portal now requires that a check-in location be set if a game/event has points assigned to it
Bug Fixes:
- Reduced flickering on the home screen view
- Phantom TV provider icon no longer appears (must have broadcast provider title entered for this to show up)
- Fixed a portal issues affecting demographic selections on notifications. Custom demographics now load correctly, so creating a notification will show correct demographic labels and support Rewards Users.
- Fixed a problem causing some stat categories to display incorrectly.
- Fixed a crash in the tutorial.
- Reduced visual flickering throughout the application.
- Fixed styling problems in the radio player and in the roster.
- Fan guide search results work properly again.
- Fixed inconsistencies between the schedule screen and the event detail screen.
- Baseball scoreboard will no longer show 'LABEL' placeholder between innings
- Special Event & Promo date picker is now working as expected
- Removed unnecessary fields from the Special Event edit page
- Fixed a bug that was causing multiple notifications to go out (when only one was expected)
- Fixed a bug that caused images not to attach to notifications correctly
