Purpose: Push notifications are the best way to get your information into your fans' hands. This article will show you the importance of push notifications, as well as detail how to send a push notification using the portal.

Use Cases for Push Notifications

There are countless use cases for sending push notifications.  From game reminders to parking alerts, push notifications can be used to notify fans when important things are happening within your program.

FanX notifications always jump users to a specific page in the app based on the source of the notification on the portal.  Notifications can be sent from a specific game, player, promotion, etc., and the user will be directed straight to that record in the app when the notification is swiped.

How to Send a Push Notification

While in the backend portal, you will be able to send a notification from anywhere you see a paper airplane icon.  See the example below that shows how to send a notification from a game.

  1. Navigate to [Sports] -> [Games] -> [Select the game you will send the notification from]
  2. At the top of the game page, you will see a paper airplane icon. Click that button to open the notification popup window.

    3.  Fill out the title and description (100 character max) of the notification. You can select specific segments for the notification to go to, or can chose to send the notification to people only at a specific arena. The schedule check box at the top of the screen can be used to push the notification at a later time and date.

        4.  Click send.

How to View Scheduled and Sent Notifications

All scheduled notifications can be viewed, updated, or cancelled by navigating to "Notifications" in the top navigation bar in the portal.  You can switch between notifications that are scheduled for the future and notifications that have already been sent out.
