Purpose:

So you've set up your Apple Developer Account and have granted the FNO team access.  What else do you need to do to make sure your app stays up-to-date with the latest software?

Part 1: User Permissions

Setting up the FNO user as an Admin will be the path of least resistance in terms of keeping your Apple Developer Account low maintenance.  When FNO is setup as an Admin, we are able to take a few recurring tasks off of your plate including:

  • Setting up the Privacy Policy settings for the app and keeping them up to date
    • As an admin, FNO is able to manage this for you
  • Setting up and renewing app certificates (including push notification certs and distribution certs)
    • As an admin or app manager, FNO is able to manage this for you
    • If FNO is set as an app manager, you need to make sure the box for "Access to Certs and Profiles" is checked

NOTE: If the FNO user is NOT setup with these permissions, responsibility will fall on the team agent to complete these tasks when necessary.

Part 2: Renewing Your Account

Each year, the "Team Agent" (or owner) of the account will need to renew participation in the program.  The team agent will receive email reminders along with alerts on the account page reminding them to take this action.  If the team agent fails to renew the account, the app will be taken down from the store until that action is taken.

Part 3: Accepting the Latest Agreements from Apple

Throughout the year, Apple may update their Terms & Conditions which will require the "Team Agent" (or owner) of the account to accept their latest agreement.  The team agent will receive emails and alerts on the account when there are new terms for them to agree to.  If the team agent fails to accept the new agreements, the app will remain available for download, but is unable to be updated to the latest version of the software.
